The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the Nation’s No.1 and No.4 killers, claim more than 865,000 American lives a year.

I am so excited to be taking part in this annual event. The Alaska Heart Run is the largest 5K race in Alaska. Participants travel from across the state to participate in this fundraising event benefiting the American Heart Association which raises funds to aid in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Make a difference in your own life while raising funds to save others.

I came across this great recipe from www.fitsugar.com that I can't wait to try! Who doesn't love making dinner in a Slow Cooker?

Craving a little comfort food that won't break the calorie bank? This dinner involves no cheese and no pizza dough, and I promise it's not deep-fried — but it is just as warm, savory, and satisfying! After one bite of this chickpea and sweet potato curry with coconut rice, you will be sold.

Each serving is about 400 calories, and because this recipe serves six, you can impress your friends with this bold yet easy-to-make dish or save the rest for tomorrow's lunch. This vegan and gluten-free recipe calls for spinach (for some added vitamins and fiber), but you can omit it if you're not a fan of greens in your curry.

All it means is it will be easier for our

Shadow: Well Dad is off on another trip to see his folks in California. HIS Dad is quite sick and his Mom needs his help. So Dad leaves our Mom in charge of the house while he’s gone. I used to miss him when he would leave for a few days, but Mom does a real good job, and he’s home before we knew it.

Rudy: I slept when Dad was home and I slept when he was away. Didn’t real see any difference. Yeah we didn’t move around as much with Mom, you know “do your business and back into the kennel” but guess what: I slept in the kennel too. I mean it’s a big as a car so we could all sleep. Shadow would stand guard and we all would sleep. It was great.

Kovu: Yes. I agree with Rudy. We really do sleep most of the day. Actually we astral travel while we are
